About New Energy Gate Hamburg
The New Energy Gate Hamburg is an example of one of our major commitments to the energy transition - and to the arrival of imported cleaner energy in Hamburg. We are creating space for hydrogen products and renewable energy at our large Blumensand tank terminal in the heart of the Port of Hamburg.
Ammonia imports
The first step is to set up an infrastructure for importing ammonia. A tank is being built at our Blumensand Terminal for the temporary storage of imported ammonia. Next to this, our anchor customer Air Products plans to use an H2 production unit to split the ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen and prepare it for distribution.
