In addition to a tailored learning journey, guidance from an experienced mentor in the MB Energy Leadership Team, and the opportunity to work on a STAR project, ten talents embarked on an inspiring innovation journey to Madrid to experience MB Energy's strategy brought to life. In the STAR Projects, the participants work for a year in interdisciplinary teams on strategically important topics outside their area of expertise.
In Madrid, the talents gained insights into the dynamic field of low-carbon fuels at the European Sustainable Fuels Summit. After that the trip continued to the Moeve headquarters, where the talented individuals met with the aviation team for an exclusive session. The key insight: the energy transition in aviation is only possible through industry-wide cooperation.
The demand for aviation fuel is expected to double by 2040. This is why the EU has introduced the RefuelEU Aviation Regulation: by 2050, airlines must gradually blend up to 70% of so-called "sustainable aviation fuel" (SAF). Demand for SAF is therefore set to rise rapidly. This presents a significant opportunity for energy companies such as MB Energy that are willing to play a role in this area.
During the trip, participants gained a deeper understanding of current market changes and had the opportunity to reflect on the active role they can play – both individually and collectively – in shaping the future of energy supply.
