For the first time, we have doubled our financial contribution, enabling two students to receive a scholarship this year. At the official award ceremony on 6 October 2025, our Sustainability Team attended the event to personally congratulate the scholarship recipients. In a brief address, we also shared a short impulse on equal opportunities and social responsibility – core values that play a central role in our sustainability strategy.
The Hamburg Scholarship was launched in the winter semester of 2018/2019 by Studierendenwerk Hamburg AöR. It is aimed at students with a migration or refugee background, as well as first-generation academics whose parents did not attend a university in Germany. In addition to financial support, the programme offers personal development opportunities through mentoring, networking events and training formats. Now in its sixth year, 30 dedicated students from various disciplines at Hamburg’s eight universities benefit from this special scholarship.
Through our sponsorship, we aim to encourage young people to follow their own path and unlock their potential – regardless of their background or starting conditions. In doing so, we combine our commitment to social responsibility with the goal of creating sustainable opportunities for society.
