AquaVentus

The AquaVentus association aims to install 10 gigawatts of offshore wind turbines for generating green hydrogen in the North Sea. MB Energy is one of the founding members.

HIF (Highly Innovative Fuels)

With the aim of selling e-gasoline, MB Energy and HIF (Highly Innovative Fuels), Chile, have signed a memorandum of understanding. MB Energy is thus positioning itself for the market launch of e-fuels.

P2X-Europe

MB Energy and H&R Refining have established a joint venture, P2X-Europe, to produce and market Power-to-X products. For MB Energy, this is a further step in offering its customers innovative energy solutions.

Nordic Electrofuel

P2X Europe is driving the path to carbon neutrality in mobility and chemicals: The joint venture between MB Energy and the H&R Group plans to purchase synthesis-based e-fuels and waxes from renewable resources from Nordic Electrofuel. From 2024, P2X Europe will purchase commercial quantities of fuel and waxes and market them mainly in the jet fuel sector, but also in the basic chemical industry.

eFuel Alliance

The eFuel Alliance supports the political acceptance and regulatory consideration of e-fuels as a significant contribution to sustainable climate protection. Members include MB Energy.

eFUEL-TODAY

eFUEL-TODAY is an initiative that provides information about synthetic fuels. The initiator is Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland e.V. (MEW). MB Energy is a partner of the initiative.

Chemicals

Gulf Coast Ammonia LLC (GCA)

MB Energy has become ammonia offtaker and operating partner in Gulf Coast Ammonia LLC (GCA). The ammonia production plant (currently under construction) with nameplate capacity of approx. 1.3 million metric tons per year at Texas City, USA, is expected to enter commercial levels of production in 2024.

CAMPFIRE

MB Energy has joined the CAMPFIRE consortium. CAMPFIRE is an alliance of companies, scientists and agencies in the German North-East region that aims to develop technologies, processes and services to realize the vision: "Wind and water to ammonia - Maritime fuel and energy storage for a zero-emission future". MB Energy will participate in several working groups in the CAMPFIRE consortium to promote and advance topics such as, among others, ammonia bunkering, ammonia safety and green ammonia trading.

Storage & infrastructure

New Energy Gate

In November 2022, MB Energy announced that it intends to build facilities for the import and handling of ammonia on the site of the existing Blumensand tank terminal in the port of Hamburg.
