Hamburg Rocks Together: Help for Musicians and Bands

Under the motto “Companies Bring Culture Back to the Stage,” the kickoff event for a series of live-streamed concerts launched by Hamburg-based companies took place on June 17. The initiative is designed to provide targeted support to musicians and bands who have been particularly hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kicking off the series on the virtual stage was the Grammophon Jazzband with a diverse mix of jazz, pop, and soul. Behind “Hamburg Rockt’s Zusammen” and the associated live-streaming concert is a broad-based fundraising campaign. All donations received by the end of June 2021 were matched by MB Energy (Marquard & Bahls) and the other participating companies. The beneficiary is the Hamburg-based initiative RockCity e.V., which has been supporting more than 3,000 musicians in the Hanseatic city for 33 years.
