MB Energy becomes energy and sustainability partner of Bitpanda Open tennis tournament

In May, the international tennis elite will gather at Rothenbaum in Hamburg for the Bitpanda Hamburg Open. From 16 to 23 May, top players will compete at this year’s ATP 500 tournament – and MB Energy is proud to be on board as an official partner. As Kristoff Puelinckx, CEO of Tennium, put it: “We have top players here, because we have great partners.”

With this partnership, we aim to sharpen our profile as a provider of secure, future-oriented energy solutions and to underline our ambition to combine top performance with responsibility and long-term impact – on and off the court.

Fans can look forward to players such as defending champion Flavio Cobolli, local hero Alexander Zverev, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton and former Hamburg champion Lorenzo Musetti. In total, eleven players from the Top 20 are expected, and Holger Rune will celebrate his comeback in Hamburg after a longer injury break.

At today’s press conference at Port des Lumières in Hamburg’s HafenCity, DTB President Dietloff von Arnim highlighted Hamburg’s global reputation in the tennis world. In this impressive setting, Tournament Director Enric Molina Mur also unveiled the newly designed trophy.

As part of our partnership, we are launching the “Aces for Sustainability” initiative: for every ace served during the tournament, MB Energy will donate to Special Olympics Hamburg (SOHH). This creates a tangible social contribution that connects world-class tennis with societal benefit. SOHH, the regional chapter of Special Olympics Germany, is part of the world’s largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities. Together with clubs and partners in Hamburg, the organisation promotes recognition, self-confidence, health and social participation through sport – in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
