Energy to Innovate
Our New Energy Products
MB Energy is developing a growing portfolio of new energy sources and lower-emission fuel solutions.
The products differ in terms of their production, areas of application and infrastructure requirements and have different characteristics and applications across mobility, industry and future energy systems.
Our New Energy Solutions
The energy landscape is changing. Alongside established energy sources, new fuels, molecules and supply solutions are emerging, opening up additional opportunities for companies to transform their energy supply.
MB Energy combines products such as methanol, renewable hydrogen, ammonia, SAF, biofuels and BioLPG with infrastructure, logistics, market access and sector-specific solutions.
This is not just about individual energy sources. What is crucial is the development of the entire supply chain – from import and storage, through transport and distribution, to the actual application at the customer’s premises.
New Energy Infrastructure Projects
MB Energy is transforming its infrastructure to support the next phase of the energy transition. By adapting our storage assets and investing in future-ready capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to deliver new energy solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs. The projects below highlight key initiatives that are helping build this platform for the future.

FAQ
What new energy products does MB Energy offer?
MB Energy develops and supplies a range of new energy products and fuel solutions, including, amongst others, methanol, renewable hydrogen, ammonia and SAF. The portfolio is complemented by biofuels and BioLPG.
What role does methanol play in new energy?
Biomethanol and e-methanol can be used in particular in shipping and industry, as well as a feedstock for further fuel pathways.
What role does renewable hydrogen play?
Renewable hydrogen can support applications where direct electrification is only possible to a limited extent. These include, amongst others, heavy goods transport, industry and decentralised energy supply.
What role does ammonia play?
Ammonia can be used as an industrial feedstock, a future marine fuel and a hydrogen carrier, thereby linking different New Energy value chains.
Which new energy products are suitable for shipping?
Biofuel blends, as well as biomethanol and e-methanol, can be used in shipping, amongst other things. In the future, ammonia can also play a role as an alternative marine fuel.
