New Hydrogen Refuelling Station for trucks in Lübeck

After months of construction work, the hydrogen refuelling station in Lübeck has finally opened and is ready for lorry drivers to fill their tanks with H2. This is an important step towards establishing a reliable hydrogen infrastructure.

The filling station can refuel up to 50 lorries a day. This corresponds to a daily capacity of around 2,000 kilograms of hydrogen. The new hydrogen refuelling station is strategically located near the junction of the A1 and A20 motorways and adjoins an existing diesel refuelling station operated by the MB Energy Group. The new depot refuelling station will be seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure of the MB Energy Group’s commercial road transport division. The division currently operates over 400 conventional refuelling stations within the tankpool24 network.

“We are very proud to be able to inaugurate this refuelling station today,” says Philipp Kroepels, Director of New Energy at MB Energy. “Thanks to our team, as well as our partners and suppliers, who have worked hard over the past few months to complete the construction, we are turning a vision into a tangible contribution to the hydrogen economy in Germany.”
