As part of the reorganisation of Mabanaft’s end-customer business, the Petronord Group has been divided into the Energy Distribution (ED) and Commercial Road Transport (CRT) divisions in the course of this year. With the aim of further integrating these business areas, this is one of the steps designed to strengthen and expand the retail business on a solid footing, in line with Mabanaft’s strategy.
Lipps Energie, based in Hagen, and Uhlenbruck Energie, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, have been part of the Petronord Group for many years. Through their Energy Distribution divisions, they have been successfully supplying the regions around their respective headquarters with energy products for decades.
Following lengthy deliberations on various aspects and criteria relating to the further implementation of the Mabanaft strategy, the decision has been taken to sell the Energy Distribution division of both companies to Rheinland energie team GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 1 December 2023. This transaction is still subject to approval by the competition authorities. The unmanned petrol stations of both companies, which form part of the tankpool24 network in Germany, have been fully integrated into Mabanaft’s Retail division. They will remain there, with their ownership structure unchanged, within the CRT division, which continues to be one of the strategic priorities and is focused on strengthening and growth.
