At Mabanaft, we don’t just talk about environmental responsibility – we live it. In 2023, the focus of our environmental commitment is on transformative projects that can significantly reduce our environmental footprint and pave the way for sustainable development.
Our groundbreaking New Energy Gate project in Hamburg will be one of the first major hydrogen import terminals in Germany to utilise innovative energy solutions such as hydrogen, marking a major step forward in our commitment to sustainable energy solutions. This initiative is designed to facilitate the large-scale transition to green energy sources and support Germany’s and the EU’s climate neutrality targets by 2045 and 2050 respectively.
In addition to infrastructure, we have made significant progress towards net-zero at all our sites. By strategically reducing our direct and indirect CO₂ emissions (Scope 1 and 2) and accounting for emissions across our entire value chain (Scope 3), we are setting new standards for environmental protection in our industry.
Furthermore, through our proactive ‘Zero-Spill’ strategy and the consistent improvement of operational safety, we ensure that we minimise our environmental impact and protect the ecosystems in which we operate.
